Overview
Pellings have been appointed by North Herts Homes as Employers Agent, Cost Consultant and CDM Co-ordinator for a supported independent living project in Hertfordshire. The project is for 36 SIL flats and 32 general needs flats and houses in two phases.
A feasibility study demonstrated that a high specification development of new houses and flats (for rent and shared ownership) and a modern supported independent living complex for older people could be achieved by redeveloping the combined Beechridge Lodge and Temple Court sites.
Residents at Temple Court were asked to comment on the proposals and initial design meetings were held in June/July 2007. A separate consultation for other local residents was also held in July 2007. Work commenced on site in early 2009 with residents moving into their new accommodation in December 2010.
The scheme will be one of the largest projects to achieve code level 4 to date and will be to Lifetime Homes.
